We made it through the airport! 😊 I find navigating Toronto Pearson Airport to be not so bad. It's not as bad as you'd expect. The parking is probably the most difficult part. Its $3/20 minutes, which is pretty outrageous, and finding your car once you've parked it... Good luck with that!
Now just waiting for our flight at 6:55pm. The flight will be around 7 hours long. It's not so bad. I've been on flights way longer than 7 hours.
I love airports. There's this interesting mix of different people everywhere. Like every culture you can imagine right in one shiny building. There's also every type of food in here. From where I'm sitting alone I see dim sum, sushi, paninis, burgers, Tim Hortons, pizza, and Indian food. I think its incredible how multinational we have become. Canada really is a mixed salad.
I'm sitting at this little table where you can order food on an iPad, pay at an attached debit machine and then have the food delivered to your table. Technology, I tell ya!
And the people! I think its kind of funny to hear peoples stories when I'm travelling. There's a man sitting across from me at the table, maybe in his early 40s, and he's talking to his wife on the iPad using Facetime. And I can't hear her end of the conversation because he's using headphones, but she is definitely giving him shit for eating too many pistachios because they're bad for his health. And he's trying to make a case for the pistachios, saying they're better than potato chips, and they're "precious" to him (his actual words). I'm just sitting here laughing. He's got like.. A good 3kg of pistachios in a bag beside him.
People are so funny.
I went on a flight to South Korea once (14 hours I think it was?) and sat beside a little boy. And you could go onto the computers on the plane, enter a username and play videogames against other passengers. So I played against this little boy and he absolutely kicked my ass at every game. 😳
I haven't flown on an Air Canada plane in a while, so this will be interesting.
